THE COTTAGE

Anne bought this house as her own little bolt hole, for respite in the country - walking and fossil hunting. She is always happy to give her guests helpful advice on where the best local fossils can be found.

The idea behind this delightful country abode is to get back to basics and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. In this cottage you will not find "all the mod-cons" such as dishwashers, microwaves or flatscreen tvs with sky subscriptions, what you will find though is (in our opinion) something better - a country home with the environment in mind, eco friendly products, a quiet space to unwind away from the bustle of city life and a bolt hole in a beautiful village to escape from the world.

  • Central location for Somerset and Dorset

  • Back to basics living

  • Log burner in the sitting room

  • Lovely peaceful garden with countryside views

  • Eco friendly property

THE DOGS

As a Dog Friendly holiday property you will find an abundance of walks in the local area, our favourite spot is Ham Hill just a few minutes walk away, where you will find a maze of paths to walk your dog as well as a pub for a spot of lunch. The views from here are divine!

We love for dogs to enjoy their stay as much as our human guests so will always leave a little something for them in our welcome tray. All we ask is that they aren't left alone in the house for extended periods.

THE SPACE

Our home is entirely set up to receive family and friends. In our absence we like to share it with others. We won’t be there to host our guests in person, but we keep contact before and during their stay, to make sure all is going well. We also left our books, maps and DVDs for our guests to use.

Entire house over 3 floors with garden and 1 private parking space situated on a private shared driveway (narrow entrance not suitable for long base vans) garden shed for storing bikes and firewood
We recommend only one family unit or couple to stay at the house as the living spaces are smaller due to the "Cottage style" nature of the home (for sitting and dining etc).
